Whether your problem relates to pregnancy, nursing, or the force of gravity, you are likely to lose shape and firmness in your breasts. In these cases, Dr. Fisher will often recommend a breast lift surgery. A Breast Lift, or Mastopexy, is the removal of excess skin that has been stretched due to pregnancy or weight fluctuation. This procedure changes your appearance in a swimsuit and clothing, and provides for a more youthful look to the breasts. To find out if the breast lift surgery is right for you, we suggest scheduling a consultation with Dr. Fisher.
Your Consultation
During your initial appointment, Dr. Fisher will talk to you about what your expectations are for the surgery. He will take the time to answer any questions as well as discuss the procedure in detail with you. You should also be prepared to discuss your medical history as that will factor into whether the procedure is right for you. You should plan on spending about an hour at the consultation.
Dr. Fisher can use several methods for your breast lift surgery. He will explain each during your appointment and give his expert opinion about which option is right for you. If you are also unhappy with the size of your breasts, Dr. Fisher may suggest combining your breast lift with a breast augmentation to give you the results you desire. You will be required to wear a supportive bra for a couple of weeks following your breast lift, and avoid any physical activity.
Your Surgery
Prior to your breast lift surgery, Dr. Fisher will give you preoperative and post operative instructions to follow. To be prepared for surgery and make the recovery process easier, we suggest you follow these instructions closely. Dr. Fisher performs the breast lift procedure on an outpatient basis using general anesthesia which means you will asleep during the surgery. The breast lift surgery takes two to four hours to complete.
Your Recovery
You will see Dr. Fisher in about a week after the procedure to have your stitches removed. The recovery period will be approximately 2-3 weeks. Dr. Fisher also requires that you do no heavy lifting for 2 weeks and you should avoid raising your arms above your shoulders. To make your recovery process smooth, remember to closely follow Dr. Fisher’s post operative instructions. Email Dr. Fisher Back to top
