Procedure
The most common technique involves 3 incisions. One around the areolas, another vertically from the areolas to the crease of the breast, and a third along the breast crease.
The excess skin is removed and the nipple and areola is shifted to a higher more pleasing position.
Surgery takes about 1 to 2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia with return home the same day.
Breast Uplift can be performed in conjunction with breast augmentation surgery.
Recovery
The bandage is removed after 1-3 days. A surgical bra is worn full-time for 3-4 weeks following surgery. Stitches are removed after approximately 1 week. Some bruising and swelling are seen for 2-3 weeks. Patients should avoid lifting anything over their head for a few weeks. Most patients return to work within a week depending on their level of activity.
Results
A mastopexy raises and firms the breasts, resulting in a more pleasing youthful breast contour. Patients who wish larger breasts may also enhance their breast size at the same time with breast implants. Email Dr. Pisarski Back to top
